Description
Open House for the Acquired Brain Injury Program at any time. The program makes experienced, staff-led tours available to the public and TBI survivors and their families on a year-round basis.

Staffed by a team of credentialed special education instructors, assisted by a neuropsychologist, instructional associates, aides, interns and volunteers, the 2-year ABI Program's goal is to provide structured cognitive retraining, allowing students to maximize their abilities, regain their independence, and achieve academic and vocational goals.

Coastline's ABI Program is a demanding two-year educational program designed to provide structured cognitive retraining for adults who have sustained a brain injury due to traumatic (such as a motor vehicle accident or fall) or non-traumatic (such as a non-age-related stroke, brain tumor or infection) injuries.

BCF's TBI Support Groups are run by and for its members to provide mutual aid or support in dealing with issues and concerns. Our groups are facilitated by a BCF staff members but are unique in that they may be attended by anyone regardless of training, experience, or credentials.

 

BCF's TBI Support Groups provide a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential outlet for sharing with peers who have gone through similar experiences. They provide understanding and assurance for others in the group that they are not alone.

 

The BCF TBI Support Group provides evidence that it is possible to feel better about dealing or coping with disabilities, and to develop positive attitudes about the future. They also provide the opportunity for members to help each other through the sharing of knowledge and experiences. Our TBI Support Groups also offer resources, speakers, information, and literature not readily available outside of the group.
